wendelah1: Scully's head dissolving into yellow goo (I'm melting)

DAY 3. At least this year I won't have to defend picking "Blood" since we're doing all of season two. *g*

I remember watching "Blood" for the first time, and I don't remember them all, believe me. I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode, waiting for the postal worker to go postal. And that ending where Mulder sees "ALL DONE. BYE BYE." on his cell phone screen still haunts me. You don't know if he's hallucinating or if some mysterious shadow government entity is taunting him. Maybe Mulder is going to go nuts and begin shooting up random bystanders. That would have made a great post-ep story, imho. Too bad no one else thought so. Yes, it's back on the prompts list this year.

Writer/s: story by Darin Morgan; Glen Morgan and James Wong wrote the teleplay.
Director: David Nutter
Originally aired: September 30, 1994 (in the US) – 3rd March 1995 (in Australia)

Synopsis: A small town sheriff requests help from the FBI to solve a series of random murders, all committed by upstanding citizens. Scully's autopsy results are brought to the attention of the Lone Gunmen, who conclude the murderers were all under the influence of a illegally sprayed pesticide that can cause LSD-like hallucinations. Because there is a smashed-up electronic screen at each crime scene, Mulder believes the killers may have been receiving subliminal messages. And that's before he gets sprayed with the pesticide himself.

Most Memorable Quote:
Sheriff Spencer: "Things like this aren't supposed to happen here."
Mulder: "A 42-year-old real estate agent murders four strangers with his bare hands. That's not supposed to happen anywhere."

Sarah Stegall's review
X-Files 10 Best Episodes by Andrew Payne. I have no idea who he is either, but aren't you curious?
NEW ADDITION: Meta - A Different Kind of 90s Nostalgia: "Blood" by Plaid Adder, from her excellent X-Files Meta series.

None that I can recommend that's directly related to the episode. I'm trying to get over it.

Dance by Dith. This is a great story from the right time period. It's near the beginning of season two. The X-Files are shut down. Scully is back doing autopsies and teaching, Mulder is stuck in his cubicle, listening to reel after reel of audio surveillance tape. Out of the blue, Mulder gets a call from an old friend, who wants him to come to South Street in Philadelphia to investigate a murder, off the books.
