June is my favorite month :D

Back in the month of May I posted a fanmix as an entry for Philedom Olympics. The fanmix was actually just a mixcd for Monica Reyes to listen to as she drove up to D.C. from New Orleans. It's a long drive. I figured she could use a mix or two. (One cannot live on whalesong alone.)

I had so much fun making that one that I decided to do it again. And I had so much fun making that one that I decided to do one more!

You don't care what these people have sacrificed over the last nine years - what's been lost to their cause. You make a mockery of it, gladdened it proves your point.

I should say it up front: The Truth is not one of my favorite episodes. It may, in fact, be one of my least favorite episodes. It's a long annoying clip show with ghosts as major plot devices.

But where it fails to please me as a series finale, it delights me as an episode in which a lot of truths are laid bare. The conspiracy. The mythology. The characters we'd forgotten about and the sacrifices they made. The reminder of what an incredible journey we've been on. There is a lot in the episode that makes the world in which The X-Files is set just that much richer. (I would suggest reading a transcript of the episode. It's a good read.)

Without further tl;dr: two fanmixes )

I was going to do a picspam for my day...and then I was going to do icons. But I kept getting distracted with trying to come up with some good background music for doing said artistic endeavors. Hence the fanmix kind of created itself. Although I think these songs suit this episode//a little bit the tone of season 3 on the whole very well. Cover art and track listing is under the cut.

Here is my first contribution for [livejournal.com profile] xf_is_love. This is an episodic fanmix, which means I chose the songs specifically to fit within the context of the episode. They are ordered chronologically and follow the flow of the episode each representing a moment/scene/sequence from the episode both lyrically and musically.

I complied the music, the artwork was done by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] thecaptainslass. Thank you!

I will make individual uploads available upon request.

You, Me, and the Third - an Episodic Fanmix, "Triangle"

Still floating soft
I am dreaming and I'm glad I lost
And still with my fingers
I'm drawing circles in the water
In the water
And still, still you're always there

Two quick notes: Yes, The Puppini Sisters song is the one used in the episode (not their version though) and the bonus song didn't fit with the above mentioned theme but is a popular song from that era that I love so I thought I'd include it
