I've always been notoriously bad at noticing music in movies or shows. Unless it's a song I already know, I often don't hear it at all. I was watching via Netflix and there's some weird song playing on Duane's car stereo as he's driving around with Scully in the trunk and gets stopped by the police. The only reason I noticed now is because I have the subtitles on. Wow, all these years and countless viewings and I'm only noticing this now?
I don't think I ever noticed the spaceship-y lights in the sky when Mulder gets to the mountain, finds the empty trunk (and Scully's cross necklace) and just before we hear Duane's voice!
And wow, that's a really clear up close shot of her cross. Somewhere, there must be an icon of it!
Whose bright idea was it to leave the partner of a missing agent alone with the suspect like that? Especially since I'm sure Mulder's reputation for being unpredictable and a bit of a hothead precedes him?
Um, no one outside the room can hear them yelling and struggling and all that commotion? Come on.
CSM to Krycek: You have no rights. Only orders to be carried out. Ouch.
I loved Scully's mom as a character! And I thought the casting of Sheila Larkin was perfect. Maybe it's just my imagination and wanting to see things that aren't really there, but I always thought they resembled each other in their facial expressions and manner of speaking. She had so few episodes, but I always bought them as mother and daughter. I wish she'd had more appearances and that she and GA had had more scenes together!
I love that last shot of Mulder looking up into the dark sky. So iconic.
