Technically, "Paper Clip" is part three of three. If you want (and have the time) to watch "Anasazi" and "The Blessing Way," go for it. I probably will, but I'll be honest, "Paper Clip" is the one I love, maybe because it's the one that breaks my heart.

There's just something about that scene in the cafe, where they meet up with Skinner. They're on the run together, outlaws, Federal agents operating outside the law. What if they hadn't agreed to give up the digital tape in return for their safe return? Could they have used its information to bring down the Consortium? Another AU fic I wish someone would have written.

Writer/s: Chris Carter
Director: Rob Bowman
Originally aired: September 29, 1995 (in the US) – 21st February 1996 (in Australia)

Synopsis: Mulder returns home to find Scully holding Skinner at gunpoint. Skinner reveals he has the digital tape that everyone's been looking for. Working with information from an old Mulder family photograph, Mulder and Scully locate a former Nazi scientist, who was brought to the USA to work on Operation Paper Clip. He sends them to what appears to be an old, abandoned mining operation. Once inside, they find an acre of floor to ceiling cabinets, containing countless files cataloging tissue samples collected over decades for an unknown purpose. There's a file with Samantha's name on a sticker, pasted over Mulder's. There's also a file with Scully's name on it, containing a recent tissue sample.

Most Memorable Quote:
Mulder: "And I believe that what we're looking for is in the X-Files. I'm more certain than ever that the truth is in there."
Scully: "I've heard the truth, Mulder. Now what I want are the answers."

Coyote Luck by [livejournal.com profile] that_khyber. Perfect post-ep is perfect. This is exactly how I imagined it would happen. Part of his never-to-be-finished-but-what-do-I-care-since-I-didn't-like-the-ending-anyway Khyber versus Season Seven, but it works just fine as a standalone.
Time by Kipler. Logically, it's an AU post-ep for "Anasazi" and "The Blessing Way." Scully copes with Mulder's death in the boxcar.
Kith by JET. Not exactly a post-ep for "Paper Clip." It's a ghost story. She calls it a "fairy tale for autumn."

I’m relatively young to be in the fandom - as old as the show itself - and only became a fan about four years ago (thus barely missing the theatrical release of IWTB and only ever seeing reruns of the show). I’ve always liked supernatural stuff with no clear preference towards scifi but what keeps me watching any TV show, and keeps me committed to coming back to it, is romance. I can’t deny it. I found The X Files quite randomly by YouTube; I was obsessed with a song nd when searching for it on YT the first result was an MSR video. It caught my eye and I decided to give a shot to the reruns on TV at the time. I cannot remember the first episode I saw but it’s probably somewhere on season 8. The TV channel it was on was strangely only showing seasons 7-9 and when they’d get to the end they’d start at 7 again. So I quickly gave up on them and happened to find the Essential collection put together by CC, a mix of eight episodes along the whole series, and started with that. A year later I owned all the seasons and both films on DVD.

So, now that I’ve distracted you with my XF origins story I’ll present my contribution for this year. This time I’m offering you a hefty portion of Mulder fashion. As I’ve been re-watching the show lately I’ve noticed Mulder’s complete lack of style especially in ties. Fine, some of it is result of the fashion-unfortunate era but I genuinely think this is IC for Mulder. It does get better towards the end but frankly, up was the only direction is could go. What I have here is a overview of Mulder’s fashion moments throughout the show - mainly the aforementioned ties but you can also start preparing yourself for a red Speedo...
Also taking this time to shamelessly promote my earlier fanfics that I’ve only now properly pusblished somewhere else than on lj! Here on fanfiction.net you can find four fics of mine, two of which have been my earlier xf_is_love entries.
