And this is where the second most important (or possibly even most important) arc in the show kicks off, with Scully's abduction. A storyline born out of necessity because of Gillian Anderson's pregnancy, it became THE defining character moment for Scully. What would Scully's arc have been like without it?

Writer: Paul Brown
Director: Michael Lange
Originally aired: November 4, 1994

Synopsis:
Mulder begins his desperate search to find Scully and follows Duane Barry's trail to SKyland mountain.

Most Memorable Quote:
Krycek: If Mulder is such a threat, why not eliminate him?
CSM: That's not our policy.
Krycek: It's not? After what you had me do?
CSM: Kill Mulder and you risk turning one man's religion into a crusade.
