Filling up an empty day with a small nostalgia trip. I went through my WIP folder and found a fic I'd started writing after seeing "The Truth" (over ten years ago, where does the time go?), polished it up a bit, and then finished it.

Oh, I really loved this. I loved these two characters from the moment I first saw them. I always wondered how their stories ended up.

I have a weakness for 'on the run' stories. And while there's a sense of adventure, there's also fear of what's ahead and a sense of loss of all that's left behind.

This captured it perfectly.

I particularly enjoyed the bit with her rehearsing what she said to the waitress, in order to tell John so that their stories match. (That would be the worst part for me in this situation. I am a terrible liar, and with a bad memory, on top of it!)

Thank you! I admit I originally started writing this back in the day because I was frustrated that the fate of Doggett and Reyes was left open in the finale. I came up with this whole headcanon universe about what happened to them after the show and during Colonization :D

Alas, it's mostly just in my head and as snippets in my WIP folder. The only other story in the same continuity that I've actually finished is this one, set long after Colonization.

This is excellent. I don't know if I've said so before, but you are definitely one of my favorite writers when it comes to Doggett and Reyes fanfic.
